Re:           Creating Macros for use with ARIMAS 2.0

Date:        August 16, 2002

The following instructions will allow you to create Macros for the function keys for use with ARIMAS 2.0.

1.   Choose Special from the Main Menu.

2.   Choose Utilities.

3.   Choose DOS command.

4.   The dos command to enter is S4UDEF.

5.   Choose 3 Update the Library.

6.   Choose 3 KEYBOARDS.

7.   Choose 2 AMEND an existing profile.

8.   Choose 1 KEY_DFLT.

9.   Choose 6 Control Keys

10. Choose the letter Y to answer yes to amend an entry.

The next instruction states, "ENTER key/value of the control key in hex:".  For example, the value of the F2 key is 3C.  You will enter 3C to effect the F2 key with a macro.

Follow the next series of instructions to create a macro for the drop down Menu choice of [S]elect.  The commands you enter will be in Bold type.

            1.  ENTER key/value of the control key in hex:      3C [Enter]

            2.  To re-map this key enter ..................in hex:       [Enter]

            3.  Make this key Invalid? (Yes/No);                        [N]

            4.  Make this a USER HOT KEY? (Yes/No):          [N]

            5.  Make this a MACRO key?  (Yes/No):                [Y]

            6.  Enter MACRO keystrokes/values   :-                 [ESC] [ESC]  [S]  [ESC] [ESC]

                        After the above keystrokes are entered, [ESC]   S  [ESC]  will appear on the screen.                                    Press [ENTER] for the option to accept the entries or to cancel them.

                        DO NOT USE [ESC].  If you wish to accept the entries press [Y], otherwise press [N].

The following is a list of function keys, their value, and the macro keystrokes that will assist with assigning the macros to the function keys.

Function Key                                                  Value                                      Macro Keystrokes

F2                                                                   3C                                           [ESC] [ESC] [S] [ESC] [ESC]

F3                                                                   3D                                           [ESC] [ESC] [F] [ESC] [ESC]

F4                                                                   3E                                           [ESC] [ESC] [N] [ESC] [ESC]

F5                                                                   3F                                           [ESC] [ESC] [L] [ESC] [ESC]

F6                                                                   40 (4 Zero, not 4"O")                        [ESC] [ESC] [P] [ESC] [ESC]

F7                                                                   41                                            [ESC] [ESC] [U]

F8                                                                   42                                            [ESC] [ESC] [D]

F10                                                                 44                                            [ESC] [ESC] [X]

After the function keys have been assigned,  answer "N" to "Amend an entry" and "8" and "Y" to update the definitions for the Keyboard Profile.  Escape back to the main menu.  Exit the Shared Logic program.  Close all other programs and reboot.

The function keys are now assigned to the following drop down menu choices:

F2   = Select

F3   = First

F4   = Next

F5   = Last

F6   = Previous

F7   = Update

F8   = Delete

F9   = Other
